She claims popular pantry buy – which costs as little as $1.35 at Coles and Woolworths – is not just for cooking, and is a great cleaning product as well.

Sharing photos of her unbelievable results, the home owner says cornflour mixed with hot water will transform filthy pots, pans and kitchen items with no heavy scrubbing and in no time at all.

She also said you can mix cornflour with Sard Wonder laundry powder for a miracle 2-ingredient cleaning solution.

“I had a spare 10 minutes, and knew my range hood filter and BBQ trivet needing cleaning,” she wrote on the Mums Who Clean Facebook group.

“I can honestly say it’s a pleasure to clean them when it’s so easy. I use the same process for my oven racks, roast tray, greasy fry pans etc.”

In another post, she said: “I’ve posted in comments a few times of how easy things are to clean with Sard power and cornflour, (not always used together).

“I’m a person who hates having to wait, clean it now and get it over and done with, it off the list.”

She also added: “I just wanted to share how easy it is to clean some of the grime and oil film off of your frying pans. Tonight I just used the cornflour. Make sure the water is more on the hot side.”

The home owner’s posts attracted a big reaction online, with hundreds blown away by the results.

“Great job!” said one.

Another added: “Such good results, look so easy.”

One more said: “Cornflour! Who knew?”

Another warned home owners to be weary of what cleaning products you use on range hood filters.

“You should always be aware of what material their range hood filters are made from before using anything other than dishwashing liquid to clean them,” she said.

“This method, as well as others may damage them. If it’s not stainless steel they are likely to be damaged.”
