Argos opens pre-orders for must-have console that’s selling fast and isn’t the PS5 Pro | Gaming | Entertainment

Retro Games Ltd and Plaion recently unveiled The Spectrum, a fully-functional recreation of the iconic ZX Spectrum home computer. In a world of mini consoles and modern-day re-releases, The Spectrum is undoubtedly the device retro gaming fans have been crying out for. Proof of this can be found over on the Argos website, where pre-orders are available ahead of the console’s November 22 release date. According to the pre-order page, The Spectrum is “in-demand” and “selling fast”, with Argos listing the device as “popular” based on the sheer number of people putting it into their shopping baskets. If you want to secure your very own Spectrum ahead of Christmas, then you can pre-order the device for £89.99 by clicking the link below.

Launching on November 22, The Spectrum will ship with 48 pre-installed retro games, and will be available for £89.99.

The updated version of the classic computer will support 720p HD output via HDMI, and comes with four USB ports for controllers and joysticks.

Multiple save states will be available for each game, alongside a rewind feature, CRT filters and even basic programming functionality.

Most important of all, however, is the fact that The Spectrum recreates the iconic rubber keyboard, complete with fully working keys.

This means The Spectrum is perfect for playing everything from platformers and beat-em-ups, to old-school text adventures and RPGs.

If your favourite game isn’t available in the launch line-up, it’s worth noting that The Spectrum allows users to add their own games via USB, which means you should still be able to play the likes of Jetpac, Knight Lore and Dizzy, even though they’re not pre-installed.
