Argos cuts PS5 Pro in sensational early Black Friday deal

The PS5 Pro has seen it’s first mjaor price cut since it was released only just last week. An absolute shocker but perfect for people who have been waiting out for a good little discount.

Argos has cut the price of the console by £40, meaning you can now get the console for £659.99 instead of the £699.99 RRP it launched by. And considering the price has dropped so quickly, it might mean the consoles aren’t selling as well as people would have hoped.

But for people who have been holding out, it might be that little price drop that you have been waiting for especially for Christmas.

Argos is also the first retailer to drop the price by this amount so we might see other price drops from retailers thinking to price match. Amazon, Very and Sony themselves have yet to do this but we will keep you informed if it does.

Argos also lets you spread the cost of the console if you don’t want to pay it all in one go. You can also pick it up in the many hundreds of stores across the UK. No fancy tricks needed here because you can buy the console right here from Argos so jump on it before it disappears.

Why buy a PS5 Pro?

The PS5 Pro is the newest and most advanced PlayStation, boasting superior graphical capabilities that push framerates and resolution far beyond the base model.

From now on, games must support the Pro, and several major titles have received Pro patches this week to utilise the console’s additional power. Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 now supports 100fps, a significant increase from 60fps on the standard PS5, while Sony’s zombie hits The Last Of Us Part I and 2, superhero blockbuster SpiderMan 2 and various other titles from Horizon Zero Dawn to Ratchet and Clank and Gran Turismo 7 are all receiving new enhancements.

Furthermore, a number of PSVR2 games are also in line for upgrades, including No Man’s Sky and Kayak VR. At a price of £699, it can be off-putting for most gamers which is why we’ve highlighted this deal.

Elsewhere, if you want an alternative, you can get the standard PS5 digital edition console from EE for under £400, as we recognise the hefty upfront front (even in the sale) won’t be for everyone. There’s also a great number of offers on the Nintendo Switch straight from Nintendo themselves that you can find right here
