Argos customers rushing to buy the PS5 Pro – you can get new PlayStation console TODAY | Gaming | Entertainment

After months of rumours and leaks, Sony unveiled the PS5 Pro at an event back in September. Less than two months on and Sony’s new and improved PlayStation 5 console is finally in the hands of pre-order customers.

Available from today for the grand total of £699.99, the PS5 Pro improves on the original PlayStation 5 in a number of areas.

Fans can expect a smoother gameplay experience as well as superior visuals, especially with games that have been given an official PS5 Pro patch.

If you want a PS5 Pro but haven’t pre-ordered one, then the good news is that you can pick one up today if you visit your local Argos store.

According to the Argos website, the PS5 Pro is “in-demand” and “selling fast”, so there’s no guarantee it will remain in stock for long.

If you do decide to make the purchase, Argos offers various payment schemes, including the ability to spread payments via Klarna.

The PS5 Pro console comes with Sony’s excellent DualSense controller, as well as a copy of Astro’s Playroom built-in to the device.

It also comes with a 2TB solid-state drive, which is twice the storage of the original PS5 at launch. With some games requiring well over 100GB of storage (titles like Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat 1 spring to mind), this is arguably worth the price alone.

However, it’s the improved specs that really makes the PS5 Pro worth purchasing, especially if you’re torn between graphics and performance.

Indeed, the console aims to improve on the original PS5 in three main ways. Specifically with a bigger GPU, Advanced Ray-Tracing and AI-driven upscaling.

The GPU will provide rendering that’s up to 45% faster thanks to 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory. This should lead to a better balance between visuals and performance.

Advanced Ray Tracing will provide “more dynamic reflection and refraction of light”, which allows rays to be cast at double and sometimes even triple the speeds of the current PS5.

Then there’s the AI Driven Upscaling, which is said to use “machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail”.

Elsewhere, PS5 Pro Game Boost will give older PS4 and PS5 games an upgrade in the visual and performance department.
