Apollo Hospitals Q1 Results: Profit zooms 83% YoY to Rs 305 crore, revenue up 15%

Leading hospital chain Apollo Hospitals reported 83% growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 305 crore for the first quarter ended June 2024. It was Rs 167 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations in the reporting period increased 15% year-on-year to Rs 5,086 crore as against Rs 4,418 crore in the last year quarter.

The company reported an EBITDA growth of 33% year-on-year to Rs 675 crore in the April-June 2024 period. This compares with Rs 509 crore in the last year period

As we continue our growth journey, we remain dedicated to advancing healthcare excellence, implementing innovative solutions, and improving access to the best healthcare services throughout India and beyond,” said Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals.

Segment wise, revenue for the healthcare services grew 15% year-on-year to Rs 2,637 crore and EBITDA for the business also rose 15% to Rs 622 crore. PAT for the segment came in at Rs 328 crore, which is a growth of 24% year-on-year.As on June 2024, Apollo Hospitals had 7,942 operating beds across the network (excluding AHLL and managed beds). The overall occupancy for hospitals was at 68% vs 62% in the same period in the previous year, aided by a strong increase in patient flows across hospitals with inpatient (IP) volume increasing by 11% and outpatient (OP) new registrations by 13%. Revenue from the Apollo Health and Lifestyle business increased 15% year-on-year to Rs 366 crore, while loss was at Rs 10.2 crore. EBITDA for the segment jumped 33% year-on-year to Rs 30.9 crore.

The diagnostics business has an overall network of over 2,300+ centres and spread across 300 cities serving 15,000+ customer daily.

Apollo HealthCo, the digital healthcare and omni-channel pharmacy platform, entered into a binding agreement to raise equity capital of almost $300 million (Rs 2,475 crore) from private equity investor, Advent International during the quarter.

Offline pharmacy distribution revenues stood at Rs 1837 crore in Q1FY25, while revenues from digital platform were at Rs 2,45 crore. Overall Health Co revenues were at Rs 2082 crore, representing 15% YoY growth.
