Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Pax Jolie-Pitt is recovering after being involved in an e-bike accident during rush hour Monday in Los Angeles.
The 20-year-old was reportedly making his way through a high-traffic area of Los Feliz Boulevard when he hit the back of a car about 5 p.m., leaving Jolie-Pitt with a head injury and hip pain, according to TMZ.
Police and paramedics responded to the accident, and Pax Jolie-Pitt, an actor and photographer, was taken to a hospital. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Jolie-Pitt was not wearing a helmet.
People magazine was able to confirm with the Los Angeles Police Department that an incident matching the details of TMZ’s report did take place on Monday and that a “severe traffic collision report” had been completed.
Authorities told People the report involved a man in his early 20s who was riding through the neighborhood northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
According to the magazine, Jolie-Pitt was hospitalized but was expected to recover from injuries.
People’s sources relayed that Jolie is by her son’s side and reported “that he’s stable.”
Jolie-Pitt is one of six children the “Eternals” actor shared with ex-husband Pitt, but the children are reported to have a strained relationship with their father.
Earlier this month, a source close to the family told People that the “Fight Club” star has “virtually no contact” with his adult children, who also include Pax’s brother Maddox Jolie-Pitt and sisters Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.
In May, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt made headlines when she filed a petition to legally drop her dad’s last name on the day she turned 18.
A hearing on the name change was postponed earlier this week, pending the completion of a background check.
