Amal Clooney Doesn’t Do Anything Halfway—Including Travel Style

Amal Clooney is living La Dolce Vita—and she’s dressing the part.

The human rights lawyer and her husband, George Clooney, arrived in Venice from their Lake Como abode, where she has been enjoying her romantic white dress collection. The pair are in town for the 81st Venice Film Festival, where George will premiere his film Wolfs on Sunday.

Clooney’s travel outfit is a far cry from most people’s athleisure sets. She arrived in Venice wearing a sleeveless canary yellow sundress with a crewneck and cinched waist. While noticeable for its eye-catching color, the dress’s details aren’t to be overlooked either: the gathered fabric tapered in toward her waist and then flared out into a voluminous skirt with a flouncy lettuce hem.

Clooney also used the end-of-summer film festival as an opportunity to wear her most seasonal accessories before retiring them for the fall. Parroting the drama of her dress, she accessorized with an oversized straw hat with a raw brim, and an oversized pair of black square sunglasses. A noted fan of the wedge heel, she stuck to her guns in a pair of nude peep-toes with a criss-crossing strap. Coordinating with her neutral accessories, she added a beige Chloé bracelet bag, which she chose to carry as a top-handle rather than a crossbody.

Last year the duo touched down in Venice for the DVF Awards, where Clooney was honored for her extensive record as a barrister. For the occasion, she wore a blush lace slip with a tulle skirt overlay from Christian Dior’s fall 2000 collection by John Galliano. This year, however, we will hopefully get to see how Amal Clooney takes on movie premiere dressing.
