Amal Clooney Ditches Bridal White for Bold Color

After a marathon of romantic white dresses, Amal Clooney is dedicating her Venice Film Festival wardrobe to lively color. Yellow, in particular, has been on the barrister’s radar lately, be it the flouncy canary minidress she wore while arriving in town, or the butter-hued Atelier Versace number she chose for the premiere of Wolfs.

Now, Clooney is proving she’s all in on color. Yesterday, she headed to the airport in a sleeveless tangerine jumpsuit complete with a mock neck, cinched waist, and flared pant legs. She accessorized with aplomb, wearing impenetrable black square sunglasses, silver ankle strap sandals, and a white Prada Cleo shoulder bag.

She kept up the glamour for a double date with her husband George, actor Joel Edgerton, and his girlfriend, Christine Centenera. Clooney chose a dress with a silhouette reminiscent of many other pieces in her closet: a scoop neck gown with a thigh-high slit and layers of ruffles on the skirt. But instead of a romantic white or blush pink, she opted for a statement-making emerald shade of green. Playing to the dress’s cool tones, she accessorized with silver strappy sandals and dangling earrings.

While Amal Clooney looks goddess-like in white, it’s exciting to see her playing with color on her Venice trip. We have yet to find a hue that doesn’t suit her.
