The AFLW’s match review officer will scrutinise a chaotic 30 seconds of play that saw three players go down from crunching hits in two separate incidents during the season-opening clash between Collingwood and Sydney.
It all began when Collingwood midfielder Tarni White flattened Sydney defender Maddy Collier as she was loading up to kick out of the Swans’ defensive 50 during the third quarter at North Sydney Oval on Friday night.

White chose to bump and caused a head clash with White, who stayed down for a number of minutes after the hit and took no further part in the game.
She will face a nervous wait to see what penalty she receives from the MRO for the hit.
The hit sparked an almost immediate fracas between the two teams, with Giselle Davies the first Swans player to fly the flag for Collier.
“Ooo, that’s a bit hit from White, and Davies is coming in to remonstrate,” Jason Bennett said on Channel 7.
“That was a big hit there on Collier. The two teams come together in the middle of the ground, meanwhile, play (goes) on.”
With the fight still playing out in the middle of the ground, the ball entered Sydney’s forward 50 and landed in the lap of Swans skipper Chloe Molloy, who copped another big hit from Muireann Atkinson.
Atkinson came flying in and caused an accidental head clash with Molloy, but it was Atkinson herself who came off second best.
Regardless, players from both sides — those who weren’t already occupied with the ongoing tussle in the middle of the ground — came rushing in to remonstrate.
“Ball inside 50 — another big hit. And now we’ve got two spotfires going at once! We’ll need a split screen! They go from one fight to the other, and it’s on inside 50,” Bennett said.
“Two really solid hits in the space of 30 seconds. Players down, there’s a Collingwood player down to the right of that scrimmage, and Maddy Collier is still down from that initial hit from Tarni White.”
The Collingwood player down was Atkinson, who appeared dazed in the hands of trainers as she tried to compose herself.
She was eventually taken off the ground and took no further part in the game.
“Massive hit, no doubt that will be looked at for sure,” Erin Phillps said.
But Bennett and Abbey Holmes said Atkinson should have no problem with the MRO for it.
“Wow, business just picked up in a real hurry,” Bennett said.
“It was a head clash, so nothing in that one at all. It was Atkinson running into Molloy.
“Vale came in to remonstrate, and the Collingwood players said, ‘Well, what for?’ And that started the second one (fight).”
Holmes added: “There’s not much in that one; that is a genuine accident there with Atkinson and Molloy.”
