Adele Tears Up While Hugging Celine Dion At Las Vegas Residency

Adele was moved to tears after saying hello to Celine Dion at her Las Vegas residency over the weekend.

In a viral clip shared on social media, the British pop star, 36, halted her performance of “When We Were Young” after spotting the Canadian singer in a box at Caesars Palace.

Adele appeared emotional as she approached Dion, 56, with her arms extended wide open to hug her. The two Grammy winners teared up together as they tightly embraced and exchanged a few words that could not be heard by the audience.

The “Power of Love” singer then kissed Adele’s hand before she resumed her performance onstage. Dion then dabbed at her teary eyes with a tissue and took her seat again.

“Give it up for Miss Celine Dion,” Adele said, prompting the beloved musician to stand up as the crowd roared.

Adele called their touching encounter “a full-circle moment” as it took place at the same venue that was built for Dion more than two decades ago when she first kicked off her own Las Vegas residency, A New Day.

“It’s only ever been about this room,” Adele gushed in a separate clip posted online from the evening. “This is just a full-circle moment to me so it’s amazing.”

Years ago, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer revealed that her “proudest possession” in life is a piece of Dion’s used chewing gum.

“James Corden, who is a friend of mine but also does ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ which I did, he did it with her and knew how much a fan of her I was,” Adele explained in an interview for Vogue’s 73 Questions series in 2021.

She added, “And so he made her spit her gum into a piece of paper and he framed it for me. And it’s my proudest possession.”

Last month, Adele announced that she will be taking a break from the stage again for an “incredibly long time” after her yearslong Las Vegas residency, which wraps up on Nov. 23.

“I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” Adele told the crowd in a clip shared on X at the time. “I want to live my life that I’ve been building and I will miss you terribly.”

Meanwhile, Dion’s documentary, “I Am Celine Dion,” released over the summer in June. The film documents her struggle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition, which has impacted her ability to perform and her singing voice.
