Addison Rae Is the Latest Celebrity to Endorse the Controversial Cone Bra

Last night Addison Rae joined the ranks of Madonna, Charli xcx, Cardi B, and Marilyn Monroe in the cone bra club. Rae attended the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party in Santa Monica in a bullet bra so sharp it could take an eye out.

In shades of Madonna’s Blonde Ambition tour, the social media star—and budding singer—wore a mauve velvet bustier top with extreme conical cups from Jean Paul Gaultier’s 2022 collection with stylist Lotta Volkova. Rae played to the top’s warmer tones with the rest of her look. On the bottom, she wore a pair of maroon velvet cigarette pants, cropped just above the ankle to show off her matching Jimmy Choo Maryanne mules.

While it was certainly the standout look from the Young Hollywood confab, she’s far from the first person to wear a cone bra lately. At the 2024 Met Gala, Kylie Jenner wore an exaggerated conical Oscar de la Renta, while Charli xcx opted for a more subdued Marni iteration. But the after-parties is where people really let their freak flags fly: Charli changed into a different Marni interpretation, while Cardi B wore a red Revolve number, and Paloma Elsesser slipped into a pink Vaquera that would make Madonna proud.

It’s no surprise, that on the eve of dropping her Lana Del Rey-esque single “Diet Pepsi,” Rae would lean into the pop-star of it all. But even before she released her EP AR last year, she’s always had a flair for the dramatic, be it wearing a pair of sky-high Vivienne Westwood heels for a coffee run, or her workout ’fits reminiscent of a Noughties Britney Spears. Addison Rae has always dressed the part of a pop diva—now she has the music to match.
