A foul-mouthed Michigan man was handed additional charges while facing a misdemeanour trespassing offence in court.
Darrell Jarrell made a court appearance last Wednesday in front of Washtenaw County Court Judge Cedric Simpson in Ann Arbor.
During the livestreamed hearing, Jarrell requested an earlier court date than September, but the judge explained the delay was due to the defendant’s attorneys being unable to speak to him about his case.
Unhappy with the answer, Jarrell was caught on camera lashing out at the judge.
“I’m tired of this state, I’m ready to leave this state as soon as possible,” Jarrell said, according to Fox affiliate WJBK. “You guys can kiss my a—.”

The judge said he had heard enough from the defendant.
“You know what? No, no, no. You don’t come in here …” Simpson said.
“F— you!” Jarrell replied.
“That’s contempt. That’s 93 (day misdemeanour charge),” Simpson said.

Jarrell continued to repeat the profanity five more times, and the judge kept adding additional 93-day misdemeanour charges for a total of 558 days or nearly 80 weeks.
The bailiff escorted Jarrell out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
The judge appeared to be unperturbed by the outburst and moved on to the next case, which was being held virtually.
Keith Jenkins, who was waiting for his turn before the judge, watched the scene unfold and was left speechless for a moment. He then acknowledged the judge.
“I just seen, uh, how you doing your honour? How you doing sir,” Jenkins said.

The judge replied that he was doing great and wasn’t concerned by the previous defendant’s foul language.
This is not the first time the judge has presided over a case that has made headlines in recent months.
In May, Simpson heard a case of a man who was seen driving a vehicle while his licence was suspended after he connected with the courtroom via Zoom.
