York Regional Police are seeking two suspects and appealing for witnesses following an arson at a home in the Riverside Dr.-Birch Hill Rd. area of Vaughan.

Cops said that on July 20 shortly before 12:30 a.m., police responded to the residence where a fire was observed within the home and Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services arrived shortly after to extinguish the blaze.
The house was unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries. The Office of the Fire Marshal determined the incident to be an arson.

Video from the area shows two suspects entering the backyard deck area. One suspect is holding two jerry cans, believed to contain an accelerant, while the second attempts to shatter a glass door.
Moments later, there is a large flash and the suspects flee the residence to a vehicle waiting nearby that was last seen travelling northbound on Riverside.
