The Row’s Margaux bag is many things: a purse, an heirloom in the making, and a status symbol. But Kendall Jenner is giving the It-bag a whole new line on its resume: anti-paparazzi device.
After watching Simone Biles and Suni Lee take home the gold and bronze medals in the individual all-around finals yesterday, Jenner hit the town. For her Parisian jaunt, the model traded in the patriotic Ralph Lauren gear she wore to watch the gymnastics for a slinky going-out ’fit. True to form, she kept it simple and classic in a white bodycon strapless minidress, which she paired with black kitten heel slingback sandals from The Row.
But the real standout was her status accessory: her emerald green Margaux clutch. Not only did it serve as a pop of color in her otherwise black-and-white outfit, but it also came in handy as a shield from the paparazzi when Jenner wanted to go incognito.
While the gesture was surely genuine, the resulting photo happened to make for a perfect piece of guerrilla marketing. Jenner, after all, is no stranger to advertising vérité. Last year, she starred in a Bottega Veneta campaign which sent her out into the wild (AKA various Los Angeles gas stations, parking garages, and sidewalks), the brand slapping its logo atop her fashionable pap walks. While this one may be a bit more organic, Kendall Jenner has accidentally created a perfect ad for The Row.
