Meghan Markle has been pictured out and about in Montecito, California but royal fans were not impressed with the bag she was carrying.
The Duchess of Sussex was on Sunday spotted at the Tre Lune restaurant with Father Of The Bride actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley as they enjoyed an Italian meal at the celebrity hotspot in Santa Barbara County.
This is where Meghan lives with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Meghan looked chic in a crisp white shirt by Anine Bing (£210) and a pair of light-wash jeans by La Ligne (£151).
She accessorised the look with gold aviator sunglasses by Rayban, Cartier’s Juste Un Clou necklace (£15,500), the same brand’s gold Tank Française watch (£28,200) and yellow gold Love bracelet (£7,050), Ariel Gordon’s Imperial disc pendant necklace (£1,979) and Lorraine Schwartz’s Against Evil Eye Five Eye diamond pave bracelet (£16,000).
The duchess finished her everyday look with a pair of beige and black Chanel flats and her personalised Dior Lady bag (£5,300).
The world-famous bag was launched in 1994 and became a firm favourite among fashionistas worldwide after the late Princess Diana wore it in 1995.
Diana was reportedly gifted the bag by then France’s first lady Bernadette Chirac and used it on several occasions, which led to the French fashion house renaming it after her, according to Marie Claire.
However, Meghan’s bag appeared to be the same one she wore bag in 2021, a personalised version featuring the initials “DSSOS” for Duchess of Sussex.
Royal fans were quick to spot the duchess’s style choice and took to social media to express their opinion. One user wrote on X: “Of course the Dior Lady Bag.”
A second one agreed: “Of course. Then of course, she’s carrying the Dior Lady Di bag only.”
Another one said: “She’s so predictable.” A fourth one commented: “That brand bag and white shirt…”
Meanwhile, a fifth one suggested the outfit bore a striking resemblance to one the late Princess of Wales wore during a trip to Bosnia in 1997 and said: “And mirroring Diana again. Just missing the belt.”
