You could be sitting on a small fortune – Here’s how you could pocket up to £1,800 | Gaming | Entertainment

It pains me to write this article, because it turns out I would have been sitting on a small fortune if I’d kept some of my old video games from the early 2000s. If you or your children had a Nintendo Gamecube back when it was competing with the original Xbox and PS2, then there’s a good chance you can pocket a decent amount of cash if you still own some of the games. Indeed, it’s worth checking your cupboards, under the bed or in the attic for any old video games, because they might be worth a lot of money. Retro gaming collecting is big business in 2024, and Nintendo games, in particular, tend to hold their value more than most other titles.

With this in mind, TicketCompare has conducted a study about the most valuable Nintendo Gamecube games in the UK.

Surprisingly, a game called Gadget Racers is the most valuable game, at least based on the money CEX is willing to pay for a mint copy (see the list further down the page). Gadget Racers is worth an incredible £422 if you have a mint copy, although even a boxed copy without a manual is worth £390.

Kirby Air Ride, Disney Sport Basketball, Frogger Beyond and Chibi-Robo are all worth north of £201, which is annoying because I used to own Chibi-Robo and can’t remember what I did with it!

Other games worth decent money include Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (£162), Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (£162), Ribbit King (£126), Gotcha Force (£123) and Mario Party 6 (£97).

Even games like Mario Superstar Basketball, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Star Fox Assault and Pikmin 2 are worth a bit of money, and they’re not exactly that rare. (I owned all bar Mario Basketball at one point.)

You can see the top 20 most valuable Gamecube games at CEX below. The prices are for mint copies with discs and manuals, but even copies without manuals are worth selling if you have them.
