Sony has announced plans to bring another of its flagship titles to the PC in 2024. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut has been given a May 16 release date on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Director’s Cut contains the core game, add-ons and a whole host of upgrades. This includes unlocked frame-rates, new graphics options, customisable mouse and keyboard settings, custom controller settings, ultrawide monitor support, and various other improvements. Available to wishlist now, pre-order customers will receive various in-game bonuses by purchasing the game early.
Pre-order bonuses include early unlocks for the New Game+ Horse, Traveler’s Attire and Broken Armour dyes from Baku’s shop.
In case you missed the PS4 and PS5 version, the Director’s Cut includes the superb Iki Island Expansion, which sees lead character Jin explore a new location, interact with new characters, and square off against new enemies.
“The island of Iki is a wild, lawless land of raiders and criminals. Jin will have to bring all his skills to defeat the enemy and save Iki,” Sony explains.
The two-person co-operative Legends game mode is also included, as is the competitive Rivals mode where Samurai, Ronin, Hunters and Assassins compete in two-vs-two battles.
Finally, there’s the hugely cinematic Kurosawa Mode, which lets fans experience the game in black and white with film grain effects. Inspired by the legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, the bonus game mode features Japanese dialogue with English subtitles.
The PC version will be available for £49.99, so check out the CD Keys link below for the chance to save some money.
Of course, not everybody is completely happy about the decision to port Ghost of Tsushima over to PC.
It’s not that fans are against the PlayStation exclusive hitting Steam and Epic Games Store, but rather that Sony still hasn’t announced plans to bring Bloodborne to the PC.
The thought of playing Bloodborne with unlocked frame-rates on ultra-wide monitors and with upscaling and other technical improvements is the stuff of dreams, while the fact that we can’t do any of those things is a Bloodborne Hunter’s nightmare.
Needless to say, the announcement of Ghost of Tsushima’s PC release has seen Bloodborne once again trend on X (formerly Twitter).
One X user asks Sony what sacrifices Bloodborne fans need to make in order for the game to be ported, while other fans have posted a series of angry GIFs.
On the plus side, there are renewed rumours that Sony is working on a Bloodborne project that’s said to be more than just a remaster.
