A desperate search across land and sea for two stand-up paddleboarders believed to be missing off the coast of Nambucca Heads on the NSW Mid North Coast has resumed on Tuesday morning.
A beachgoer spotted the pair floating roughly 1km out from the shore and raised the alarm about 6.30pm on Monday night, but when rescue crews arrived 20 minutes later, the paddleboarders had disappeared.
Two Marine Rescue NSW crews hit the water an hour later and scoured the area until 10pm, when the search was called off due to dangerous surf conditions.
One paddleboarder was reportedly wearing a red shirt, and the other a yellow shirt, when they were last spotted between Nambucca Heads and Scotts Head.
