Indian benchmark indices opened with gains on Tuesday maintaining their two-session gaining spree led by gains in bank, auto and IT stocks.

The S&P BSE was trading at 64,252.97, up by 140.32 points or 0.22% while the broader Nifty50 stood at 19,179.60, gaining 38.70 points or 0.20%. Meanwhile, banking gauge Nifty Bank traded at 43,188.85, higher by 149.70 points or 0.35%.

Volatility was slightly higher on Tuesday from Monday closing as India VIX stood at 11.65, up 1.39%.
