Like most Dyson tech, the Big+Quiet uses some pretty impressive science to do this.

Cone aerodynamics and a new airflow system offers more than double the airflow of previous models, which is up to 87 litres of airflow per second of purified air over 10 metres.

Not only this, but the clever gadget works to capture up to 99.95 per cent of ultra-fine particles, removing over 430,000m2 of activated carbon and permanently destroying formaldehyde from your space.

This means that with the Big+Quiet, you can rest assured knowing that you are breathing in extremely pure air at home, which is crucial to our health and well-being.

A Dyson summit pointed out that, often, outdoor pollutants can enter our indoor spaces and react with indoor pollutants, creating a complex mixture of dirty air – at times, causing indoor air to be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air.

The Big+Quiet works to rectify this.

“Poor indoor air quality is a much-ignored, growing issue,” Dyson Engineering Director Matt Jennings said.

“Our home environments can be filled with particle and gas pollution, be it pollen, pet dander, NO2, CO2, VOCs from cleaning products and more.

“Each of these particles can contribute to an unhealthy environment, causing potential health concerns.

“The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is our first purifier specifically engineered to purify properly in spaces up to 100m2.

“It blends highly effective filtration and powerful projection, with intelligence, to automatically respond to imperceptible pollution events.

“With new Cone Aerodynamics to project purified air over 10 metres, the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde can reach every corner of your living space.”

If you’re worried about one key element about the Big+Quiet – the noise it will make when turned on in your home – the clue is in the name.

The machine produces just 55.6 decibels of noise – making it Dyson’s quietest yet most powerful purifier.

And it has been meticulously tested in various Dyson laboratories to make sure it’s this quiet.

The game-changing gadget will retail in two colours: Bright Nickel and Satin Dark Blue ($1,499), as well as Satin Dark Blue and Gold ($1,599).

You can shop it from the Dyson store here from September 7.
