Fill-in presenter addresses Natalie Barr’s surprise absence from Sunrise

Sunrise viewers were quick to notice that Sunrise host Natalie Barr was missing from the Channel Seven breakfast show on Monday morning.

Instead, Monique Wright sat in Barr’s hosting chair on Sunrise — alongside new host Matt Shirvington and presenter Edwina Bartholomew.

The new panel addressed Barr’s surprise absence, explaining that Barr was enjoying a well-deserved week off from the show.

The popular host is spending the time travelling through Western Australia, and Barr has already taken to her Instagram page to share early highlights of her trip.

On her Stories, the star shared images of her first day at Cable Beach in Broome.

Barr enjoyed a camel ride along the sand, captioning one of the videos: “Absolutely. Nothing. Like it.”

She added: “This is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve seen pictures of the camel rides on Cable Beach .

“Look at this – at sunset, on a camel. So peaceful and beautiful. Iconic, it’s such an Aussie thing to do! You’ve got to do it.”

Barr is expected back on screens on Monday, July 24.
