US House race in Minnesota

In addition to the Senate battle, all eight of Minnesota’s U.S. House seats are up for grabs. However, the closest race is likely to emerge from the 3rd Congressional District, where the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) candidate, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig, faces a challenge from Republican Joe Teirab, a former federal prosecutor and Marine.

Republican U.S. Rep. Brad Finstad is seeking a second term and will face DFL challenger Rachel Bohman. In Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District, Democratic Michigan state Rep. Kelly Morrison will face Tad Jude, a former judge and Republican state legislator. The vacancy was created after Dean Phillips decided not to seek reelection after pursuing the Democratic nomination for president earlier this year.

On Tuesday, 468 U.S. congressional seats (33 Senate seats and all 435 House seats) are up for election.

Early voting in Minnesota began on Sept. 20. On Election Day, polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. local time.

Minnesota holds 10 electoral votes and has voted almost exclusively Democratic in presidential elections since 1932. President Joe Biden defeated Trump by 7% in Minnesota in 2020 after Hillary Clinton narrowly defeated Trump in 2016 by just 1.5%.
