Chiefs acquire DeAndre Hopkins from Titans, place fellow WR Skyy Moore on IR

Battling a host of injuries, the Kansas City Chiefs made a move to bolster their receiver room.

The two-time defending Super Bowl champions acquired star DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a conditional draft pick, the team announced on Thursday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the pick is a 2025 fifth-rounder that could bump up to a fourth if Hopkins, 32, plays 60 per cent of the team’s snaps and the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs also placed third-year receiver Skyy Moore on injured reserve, where he joins fellow pass-catchers Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice. Juju Smith-Schuster has also been ruled out for the team’s Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Kansas City is the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL at 6-0, but its offence, led by superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, hasn’t reached the heights of previous seasons.

The hope is that Hopkins, a 12-year-veteran who’s posted seven 1,000-yard seasons in his career, provides a spark alongside stalwart tight end Travis Kelce.

In six games this season, Hopkins has hauled down 15 catches for 173 yards and one touchdown.
