Trump to appear on 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' according to reports

(NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump is expected to sit down for an interview Friday with comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan, The Associated Press reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the plans.

As far as podcasts are concerned, Rogan’s is as big as it gets. His show “The Joe Rogan Experience” has millions of listeners and, in 2023, it ranked as Spotify’s top podcast of the year globally for the fourth consecutive year.

Podcasts are assuming a more prominent role in both Trump’s and Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaigns as they try to appeal to younger voters.

Rogan’s show is particularly popular among young men — a key demographic that Trump believes could help pave his way back to the White House.

Trump podcast appearances

Trump has already made appearances on other popular podcasts like comedian Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend.”

Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance also appeared on Von’s podcast this week.

The show isn’t generally political but has recently featured an array of prominent political figures. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and Bassem Youssef, a comedian, author and political commentator from Egypt both appeared as guests shortly after Trump.

The former president also joined 29-year-old influencer and wrestler Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast as well as the “Six Feet Under” podcast with WWE legend Mark Calaway, whom fans know as The Undertaker.

Harris podcast appearances

The Harris campaign has also reportedly spoken with Rogan’s team about appearing on the podcast. However, no plans have been set in stone and time is running out before the Nov. 5 election.

Nonetheless, Harris has been using other podcasts to reach voters, including a recent conversation with two former NBA players on “All the Smoke.”

She also appeared on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast earlier this month, gaining exposure to the show’s predominately female audience.

The show boasts a following of more than 2.4 million on Instagram and 3.9 million on TikTok.
