Jelly Roll Says He’s Quitting X App

Jelly Roll has joined the list of celebrities who are leaving X (formerly Twitter) following right-wing billionaire Elon Musk’s takeover two years ago.

Over the weekend, the country musician, 39, announced that he’s leaving the social media platform, slamming it as “toxic.”

“This is for sure the most toxic negative app to exist ever — PERIOD. lol,” Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, posted on Sunday.

He added, “This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane. It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean shit to each other with no consequences.”

He wrapped up his post with, “I’m out lol.”

Jelly Roll, who joined X in 2009 and has more than 363,000 followers, had yet to deactivate his account as of Monday afternoon.

In April, he got candid with Variety about taking a break from social media due to being cyberbullied over his weight. His wife, podcaster Bunnie XO, revealed on TikTok that he was stepping away.

“It wasn’t just bullying that did it. It was not only the toxicity of social media, but the addiction of it,” he told the publication at the time. “I was becoming too busy to waste hours of my life scrolling. I can honestly say that I’ve been off social media for a few months now and I’ve never felt better or healthier mentally — never felt more clearheaded.”

In other news, Jelly Roll is slated to wrap up his “Beautifully Broken” tour on Nov. 26 in Nashville, Tennessee.
