Global superstar Katy Perry has divided fans with her performance ahead of the Sydney-Brisbane AFL grand final at the MCG.
Playing in front of 100,000 fans on a glorious Melbourne day, Perry played her iconic hits, as well as a couple of new songs.

With computer-generated graphics of helicopters featuring, Perry emerged on a giant chrome-plated automobile of some sort that had many fans guessing what exactly it was.
“Welcome back Batmobile,” Channel 7 commentator Jason Bennett said.
“Is Katy Perry riding on a giant shiny version of a handheld vacuum cleaner,” AFL journalist Sarah Black said.
“Katy Perry riding a giant goon bag onto the ground on #AFLGF day who says we have no culture,” a fan said.
“Katy Perry’s giant half-emptied goon bag unlikely to become as iconic as Billy Idol’s hovercraft, Angry Anderson’s Batmobile, or Kylie’s thong,” another said.
“Good to see Katy made her performance relevant for the audience – featuring a goon bag bladder. Nothing more Aussie than that,” another said.
She opened with her global hit Roar before launching into Dark Horse and then Gorgeous from her new album 143.
More CGI followed as Perry rolled through big hits California Gurls and Teenage Dream before Tina Arena came on stage as the pair sang I Kissed A Girl together.
Perry then sung another new song Lifetimes before closing with her iconic hit Firework.
While the crowd appeared to enjoy the performance, fans watching on TV were divided.
“Worst. Pregame. Ever,” one said.
Another added: “Bring back Robbie Williams and Kiss. Just have them rotating every year.”
Another said: “That thing she is on was rocking heaps. You could tell it was playing with her voice.”
Another said: “Meatloaf has a serious rival!”
Another added: “Not for me. Cheap CGI is sad.”
But there was some positive reviews.
