But the superstar mum-of-two has seemingly found a diet that works for her – and the results speak for themselves.

According to Hello Magazine, Christina lost 40lbs in 2013 by restricting her daily food intake to 1,600 calories, following a vigorous exercise regime and by following something called the “rainbow diet”.

By managing a colour-coded diet, the Lady Marmalade singer is said to have dropped an impressive three stone.

Many of Xtina’s fans have been so impressed by how the singer looks now, with some so impressed they say the 43-year-old doesn’t look a day over 21.

In a recent Instagram post, the star uploaded a clip of herself in Japan, sporting a flattering anime look.

The post became an instant hit, garnering thousands of likes and comments. Plenty of people couldn’t help but comment on Christina’s figure and youthful appearance.

Sasha wrote: “How is she looking like she’s still on her ‘come on over days’?” Han pointed out: “This is a 43 year old women btw.”

Eden said: “You literally look 21 oh my god.” Miguel added how Christina has seemingly “rejuvenated 30 years”. Jaclyn admitted: ” Okay so are we in a time capsule?!?”

The trendy diet isn’t as straightforward as it sounds – with a huge focus on plant-based foods and – obviously – colours.

On the rainbow diet, Christina ate foods based on a specific colour each day. Beyond weight loss, which is expected with portion control and consuming a high amounts of fruit and vegetables, the diet offered even more benefits beyond how you look on the surface.

The diet focusses on the core idea of ‘eating the rainbow’ when it comes to your meals. It incorporates a wide variety of colourful looking fruits and vegetables packed with nutrients, antioxidants, and phytochemicals.

The benefits come down to the variety a person chooses in their day-to-day plan but can be simplified by their colour groups.

For example, Healthline reports that red foods like tomato, grapefruit and watermelon are anti-inflammatory and could also reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. White foods – like onion, potato and mushrooms – also cover this area

The yellow and orange group – including pineapples, banana and oranges – have similar properties but also boast the ability to support eye health.

Traditional greens like lettuce, broccoli and spinach are high in antioxidants whilst blue and purple foods – like blueberries and blackberries – are said to potentially improve brain function and lower the risk of certain neurological disorders.

Hello added that, while she may no longer be as restrictive, Christina still favors healthy food options like chicken salad with lots of vegetables, fish with rice and vegetables, and nutritious snacks like celery and nut butter. But, if she wants to indulge in something sweet, she will, just in moderation.

Alongside her balanced diet, Christina is said to be very active and enjoys workouts including yoga, boxing, strength training, and cardio exercises.
