The Princess of Wales always manages to wow us with her ever-glowing complexion. And it seems her, alleged, secret skincare weapon isn’t as unattainable at the moment as you may think as it is currently on sale for £655 less than its regular price tag.
Reportedly, Kate Middleton is a firm fan of luxury skincare brand Rodial, in particular its Bee Venom and Placenta 24 Carat Gold Ultimate Crème which usually retails at an eye-watering £750 on Rodial (and is currently £135 on John Lewis). However, the anti-ageing cream now costs £95 at Rodial.
The expensive formula boasts brightening properties – thanks to its vitamins B, C and E inclusion – and tackles fine lines, wrinkles, expression lines and age spots, smoothing them out with its concentration of anti-ageing complexes. What’s more, this skincare contains literal liquid gold as well as pure natural 24-carat and colloidal gold.
These components claim to help with ‘cell rejuvenation’ and ‘anti-wrinkle properties’. The cream is also laced with golden speckles that deliver an immediate radiance boost.
But that’s not the only quirky ingredient in this formula as it’s also crafted with bee venom and placenta protein. While the former works to reduce expression lines and increase blood circulation, the latter contains a high concentration of amino acids, which boost hydration and water retention.
Advised for use both day and night, it’s acquired a large fan base among skincare lovers who have given the creme a 4.7 star rating. One remarked: “The crème absorbs nicely and feels luxurious. My skin already looks moisturised and plumper, the crème seems to leave a gold glow. So far impressed.”
Another said it was ‘worth every penny’ and shared: “Despite trying a range of expensive creams, this is the one that I’ve come back to due to its ability to refine the skin’s glow from within radiance that often diminishes in middle age. I look visibly younger, a fabulous product that’s worth every penny!”
“This cream is everything I could ever wish for in a cream,” hailed a third who added: “It leaves my skin so plump and nourished, and my face feels so smooth and soft. Definitely recommend to everyone who is in their late 40s/50s who want to keep their skin looking fresh and young!”
One 71-year-old shopper was pleasantly surprised too and said: “Seriously the best moisturiser that I’ve found, I have tried many top rated. It keeps my skin hydrated, tightens, and reduces lines. I’m very satisfied at 71.”
While the results have been stellar for some, others weren’t too keen on the smell of the now £95 cream with one saying: “I do NOT care for the scent.” Another said: “It’s ok not something I would again it’s not my favourite cream. It doesn’t feel luxurious. I don’t like the smell of it.”
While £95 down from £750 is a great deal, we understand if it’s still a little steep for face cream. Thankfully you can try a smaller pot of the cream in the brand’s Bee Venom Little Luxuries Kit worth £87 but costs £59. The kit includes Bee Venom Cleansing Balm, Bee Venom Moisturiser, Bee Venom Jelly Eye Patches and Bee Venom Eye Cream.
Alternatively, Rodial isn’t the only company to add gold to its formulas with PRAI Beauty’s 24K Gold Wrinkle Repair Creme costing £39.99 at Lookfantastic here.
