Trump Makes A ‘Horrible’ Word Salad Out Of Bacon And … Wind Power?

Donald Trump said it’s “a little bit true” that people are going to vote with their stomach before vomiting up a head-spinning argument tying the cost of bacon to the cost of wind power at a Wisconsin town hall-style event on Thursday.

The GOP nominee responded to a college student who ― after declaring that “everything has become more expensive” including the cost of meat ― asked him for his “plan to make life more affordable and bring down inflation.”

The former president, in an event moderated by former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, claimed that grocery prices have gone up at levels “that nobody’s ever seen” (they’re no longer rising at the rate they have been in recent years) before pointing to the cost of bacon.

“Some people don’t eat bacon anymore and we are going to get the energy prices down, when we get energy down,” Trump said.

He continued, “You know this was caused by their horrible energy. Wind, they want wind all over the place. But when it doesn’t blow we have a little problem.”

Trump has previously suggested that people relying on wind power would see their electricity go out shortly after wind drops, but this isn’t the case.

Trump’s latest remarks add to a number of instances in recent months that have sparked questions over his mental acuity including top CEOs describing him as being “remarkably meandering” at a meeting and an author who interviewed him claiming he showed “severe memory issues.”

Critics on social media mocked the former president and questioned why he can’t keep bacon off his mind, as well:

Again I ask: WHY IS HE SO OBSESSED WITH BACON?

Historians will scratch their heads about 2024, in which 1 candidate was forced to quit the race for being old & having a bad debate while the other candidate said mad, rambling stuff like this & not only stayed in the race but didn’t get pressured to step aside by the media: https://t.co/kJrQgSZD8j

I know I’d eat more bacon if it wasn’t so damn windy.

“Kamala needs to be more specific about her child tax credit and housing proposals, and explain how she will bring down prices on day one!”
