Men’s Fashion Week and the biannual menswear trade show, Pitti Uomo, is off to the races. While many of us are still easing into the new year, the menswear pack has touched down in Florence for a style-packed settimana. This year’s guest designers—the British S.S. Daley and Italian Luca Magliano—will be there to show fall 2024, shaking up the typically more traditional affair, as well as the classic American designer, Todd Snyder, who will be returning to the runway for the first time in years. The whole affair promises to be ripe with inspiration—and not just for the boys.
Women’s runways in February and September may dictate the bulk of the year’s trends, but there is ample inspiration to be gained from men’s fashion, too. After all, women have been “borrowing from the boys” and putting their own twist on menswear staples for decades, and the inclination only seems to be growing. Many of the splashiest pieces to walk the spring/summer 2024 runways seem as though they were pulled directly from a grandfather’s closet—think of Miu Miu’s boat shoes which walked the runway paired with preppy basics, or Prada’s most-coveted field jacket.
If you love the look but aren’t quite sure how to pull it off, we’ve got you covered with styling ideas for all of our favorite menswear basics—from tweed to corduroy to office-ready trousers—in our edit below.
The Pleated Trouser
Staud’s pleated trousers look particularly cool when paired with poppy red layers from Tory Burch and Valentino, and Loewe’s fresh, white sneakers. Finish off the look with hints of gold jewelry.

The Boat Shoe
Boat shoes were all over the spring/summer 2024 runways at Miu Miu, Bally, and Loewe, to name a few, and are bound to be the comeback-shoe of the season. We like ours styled with socks and pleated skirts for a preppy yet feminine look.

Cozy corduroys are perfect for the cold months ahead. We like pairing them with monochromatic basics, like this soft cashmere sweater from Allude. Margiela’s patent Tabi loafers add just the right touch of interest.

The Shacket
Prada’s field jacket from the Spring/Summer 2024 runway will undoubtedly be a hit next season, but you can get your hands on the look right now. Pair this classic pick from Carhartt with a ladylike pencil skirt and a wickedly-sharp pair of pumps from Khaite—perfect shoes for work if you ask us.
