7 best swimsuits for Euro summer: Best Picks shares the swimwear styles that you need to buy for your European summer holiday

Every second person I know is either in Europe or getting ready to hope across the pond for their summer holiday and I can’t help but feel envious.

While I dream of cacio e pepe pasta and limoncello spritesz, I will settle for living vicariously through their Instagram feeds.

But it doesn’t mean I haven’t been helping them with their outfits and swimwear choices for the upcoming travel plans ahead.

It is no secret that I love swimwear. As someone who was born and bred in Queensland and is an avid beachgoer, I own more swimsuits than I do jeans, dresses and shoes.

If you ask me, one can never have enough.

So, I have compiled a list of seven of the best swimsuits I would take if I was going for a Euro summer, from these tried and tested brands.

1. Bydee Swimwear

Bydee is currently one of the hottest swimwear brands around with plenty of celebrities coveting this Aussie swimwear and resort label.

Favoured among the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio, Alix Earle and Millie Bobbi Brown, their swimsuits feature stunning designs with intricate beading and gem details.

This Aussie brand was born from a love of detail and design at its founder’s family kitchen bench in her teens.

“It was my mum who made sure my sister and I knew how to make our clothes and costumes,” Dessy Hairis said.

Stimulated by a swimwear obsession and her Mediterranean roots, Bydee has evolved from a market stall to an internationally recognised brand.

Dessy draws inspiration from her travels and each new collection is designed to transport Bydee Babes to their dream destination.

A current favourite and one of the brand’s most popular swimsuits is Bydee’s Prague Top and Prague Bottom in the style Hermosa.

I have convinced more than a few friends to purchase this standout swimsuit for their European summer.

“Hermosa” is a print inspired by the enchanting summers of Europe and exudes vintage charm with delicate scattered florals, evoking a sense of romance and timeless allure.

It’s made with luxe Italian double-lined fabric which is 100 per cent regenerated nylon, constructed from post-consumer materials.

The bikini top which costs $99 features an adjustable double strap detail, a triangle cup as well as an under bust band with a centre back hook closure.

The prague bottoms which cost $79 feature cheeky bottom coverage and can be worn either hipster style or on the high hip.

If I were off to Europe, I would be grabbing this bikini ASAP as it’s sure to sell out.

2. Ark Swimwear

I’ve been wearing Ark Swimwear for years. It’s lightweight, comfortable and built to last.

Ark’s motto is “because simple done well is hard to find”, and isn’t that the truth?

I love classic, timeless swimsuits that can be worn year after year in both the ocean and the pool.

Ark Swimwear originally started in the Northern Beaches of Sydney with the vision of creating every woman’s ultimate staple bikini.

Ark prides itself on accentuating and celebrating the female form with its minimalist designs and luxe fabrics.

The Aussie brand prioritises comfort, affordability and aesthetic.

Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski and Izabel Goulart are just some of the famous faces that are fans of the brand.

One of my favourite pieces from the brand and one that I own myself is their classic Black Triangle Bikini.

This is the perfect purchase for Euro summer and even better, it will last the test of time.

It’s super soft, made with a luxe fabric and features adjustable neck and back straps.

It is also fully lined, which is always a must for me and those with bigger bust sizes.

The bikini top is $70 and the matching bottoms are also $70.

The string tie side bikini bottoms are adjustable for all shapes and also fully lined and designed for minimal tan lines.

If you’re wanting to invest in a swimsuit that you’’ll have for many summers to come, then Ark has you covered.

3. SAME

If you’re wanting to make more of a statement with your swimsuit this upcoming summer and would prefer something less classic and more unique, look no further than SAME.

This luxury swimwear brand from Los Angeles is one I only recently discovered but am already enamored with it.

I have my eye on SAME’s Rose Triangle Top in in Pink Stripe for $249 with the matching Rose 90s Bottom also in Pink Stripe for $233.

While on the pricier side, this stylish swimsuit is sure to make a statement.

The bikini is a part of SAME’s La Vie En Rose Collection which adds a feminine touch to staple bikinis that every closet needs.

5. Seafolly

I grew up with this iconic Aussie swimwear brand and have worn their swimsuits for as long as I can remember.

Seafolly definitely has better seasons than others but this year is an absolute showstopper.

Seafolly started in 1975 and was born on the beaches of Sydney, Australia.

Ever since then the swimwear brand has embodied the Australian beach lifestyle.

Seafolly harnesses this to create the considered swim collections that inspire the confidence all women need to truly embrace and enjoy the beach.

Seafolly says that the brand designs its beachwear and accessories with women in mind, providing shapes and support to suit a variety of body types, destinations and activities.

If I had to choose one swimsuit to take on a Euro summer from this season’s collection, I cannot look past the Ciao Bella Check Ruched Bikini in Azure.

This gorgeous blue and white gingham bikini looks like it belongs on the beach in Portofino.

It’s a swimsuit that captures a timeless elegance and Sicilian sophistication.

6. Sea Level Australia

Sea Level Australia is a newer brand on the swimwear market which first launched in 2018 and offers an extensive collection of contoured swimsuits.

The brand is all about ensuring its swimwear provides women with the ultimate support and comfort.

What caught my eye most with Sea Level’s swimwear is its beautiful selection of one pieces.

While normally I am a bikini girl, I have a newfound appreciation for a gorgeous, supportive one piece.

The Iconic are currently selling my top pick from Sea Level which is its Frill Multifit One-Piece in Black for $119.95.

7. Peony

I love a beautiful print or pattern when it comes to bikinis.

And Peony’s subtle but unique patterned bikinis are most definitely on my wishlist.

The Australian swimwear and resort wear brand was born from a life-long love affair with the ocean and named after the flower that signals the arrival of the season.

All the brand’s swimwear is created in-house exclusively with all the swimwear fabrics being made from recycled content.

Peony has been featured in publications such as Forbes and Vogue with its eco-pioneering efforts and innate charm.
