stocks to buy: Hot Stocks: Brokerage view on Torrent Pharma, RIL, Voltas and Paytm

Brokerage firm Nomura maintained a buy rating on Torrent Pharma while Jefferies has a buy rating on RIL. Also, Motilal Oswal retained a buy rating on Voltas and Paytm.

Nomura on Torrent Pharma: Buy| Target Rs 2199

Nomura maintained a buy rating on Torrent Pharma but raised the target to Rs 2199 from Rs 1838 earlier.

The potential acquisition of Cipla will be a big deal and it makes strategic sense. The acquisition will require large debt and equity dilution.

With strong cash flows at Torrent & Cipla and a high promoter stake at Torrent, the deal can be consummated.

The global investment bank expects Torrent promoters to retain a 48-63% stake.


Jefferies on RIL: Buy| Target Rs 2950

Jefferies maintained a buy rating on Reliance Industries with a target price of Rs 2950. O2C refining strength is positive but may not sustain.Discount on Russian crude has narrowed, and the reimposition of export duties limits the upside. Chinese property stimulus is positive on the margin.

Valuations are favourable after 7% correction from the recent peak.

Motilal Oswal on Voltas: Buy| Target Rs 1000

Motilal Oswal maintained a buy rating on Voltas with a target price of Rs 1000. The domestic brokerage firm expects RAC segment’s market share at 21- 22% in FY 24/25.

Voltbek’s losses continue but strong revenue traction is visible. The Electro-Mechanical Projects (EMP) segment (EMPS) to recover aided by a strong order book.

Lower ad/sales promotion expenses drive margin expansion. The brokerage firm is of the view that long-term positives are likely to outweigh near-term challenges.

Motilal Oswal on Paytm: Buy| Target Rs 1000

Motilal Oswal maintained a buy rating on One97 Communications with a target price of Rs 1000. Business momentum continues to be strong for the
company with robust growth in GMV and disbursements.

This, coupled with strong traction in subscription devices, will lead to a healthy growth in total revenue.

“We value PAYTM based on 17x FY28E EV/EBITDA and discount the same to FY25E taking a discount rate of ~15%. We thus value the stock at Rs 1,000, which implies 4.7x FY25E P/Sales,” said the note.
