M&S shoppers find lightweight chinos perfect for summer

With temperatures rising, it is time to ditch jeans for lighweight trousers like chinos. Marks and Spencer has recently improved its best-selling pair and male shoppers are loving them.

The M&S Collection Super Lightweight Chinos are great for those who don’t want to show their legs this summer. They are £45 and can be purchased in either a regular or slim fit.

Available in 10 colours for everyday wear and casual office days, the chinos are made using Lycra with stretch, for ease of movement. They also feature Coolmax technology to keep you cool and dry when it’s warm outside.

Another bonus is the active waistband, which gives you room to move freely without restricting your body – perfect when you have a barbecue party to attend. The chinos are exclusively available on M&S’ website and you can choose from three different lengths: 29in, 31in and 33in.

Shoppers have been raving over the Super Lightweight Chinos and some say they “go with everything”. One wrote: “My husband has these in several colours; They are great for the spring/summer and wash very well – tumble dry and no ironing needed.”

“Really pleased with these lightweight trousers for my husband. No bulky waistband, so comfortable to wear. He likes the colour, Airforce Blue. Sizing perfect. Very happy. Better buy another pair while they still have them in stock,” another added.

And a third shared: “I am always having difficulty in finding the right trouser for my size, these Chinos fit well and have a lovely feel to them, perfect for a summers day/evening smart casual.”

The chinos are designed in a classic style with four pockets and belt loops. But some weren’t happy with the way they arrived, with one complaining: “Lovely colour and fit. Packed in very small bag so extremely crumpled. Not good enough M&S!”

A second added: “Arrived in a ball screwed up and heavily creased-had no time to try salvage! No idea about quality as I’ve put to one side. Poor supply chain, waste!”

For other lightweight trousers options, Uniqlo’s Slim Fit Chinos are cut with a relaxed fit below the knee for a sleek, straight silhouette and are ideal for off-duty days. Shoppers said the £34.90 pair “washed well” after use.

Some raved about the H&M slim fit cotton chinos, which has earned more than 500 positive reviews. One said the £27.90 pair can “go with any outfit”.
