Foo Fighters announced on Thursday that they will no longer be performing at the upcoming two-day Soundside Music Festival in the US state of Connecticut.
The band announced they were pulling out on Instagram just days before the performance was scheduled, and urged fans to visit the music festival’s website for more information.
“Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival,” the band’s Instagram post said.

The post didn’t include a reason for the cancellation, but it comes after lead singer Dave Grohl’s bombshell confession that he had fathered a baby girl outside of his marriage and was with his family “doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will now replace Foo Fighters as the Sunday headline acts at Soundside Music Festival.
Fans were divided over the festival’s replacement acts, with some commending the new lineup, and others frustrated at the result.
“At first I was super mad, but Jack (White) and (Greta Van Fleet) are awesome replacements,” one person commented on the festival’s Instagram post.

The announcement that Foo Fighters would no longer be playing at Soundside Music Festival comes just over a month after Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) dropped out citing health concerns for the band’s lead singer Josh Homme.
The Kills, who were touring with QOTSA, also pulled out of the festival lineup.
Fans call for refunds
Fans commented on the festival’s Instagram post on Thursday, requesting the option for refunds following the major changes.
“Both bands I paid to go see — Queens of the Stoneage and now Foo Fighters — have backed out. Seems only fair to allow a refund at this point,” one person wrote.
“All three bands I wanted to see cancelled, including the headliner. Soooo … refund?” another wrote.
“We should be able to opt for refunds for Sunday with all of these abrupt changes. This is not the lineup a lot of us paid for in advance,” another wrote.
Foo Fighters were also forced to finish a show at Citi Field Stadium in New York early due to severe weather, and some fans, who claim they missed out on part of the set, and had additionally purchased tickets to see the band play at the Soundside, also expressed their frustration on social media.
“We were at the Foo Fighters concert … that got rained out in July. No refunds. Are we expected to get a refund this time? We don’t have the (money) to just keep throwing (it) away on these concerts that get cancelled. This is two times in a row,” one person commented.
Others simply poked fun at the Foo Fighters festival cancellation in light of Grohl’s recent personal news.
“Dave picked a hell of a time to improve his pull-out game,” one person wrote.
“Sorry, Dave doesn’t understand the word ‘obligation’,” another wrote.
‘I’ve got another confession to make’
Grohl did not disclose when his love child was born, nor did he share the name or mention any details about the child’s mother.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl previously wrote in a post he shared on Instagram.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
The 55-year-old rock star married wife Jordyn Blum, 48, in 2003. The couple have three daughters — Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
He was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, but the two divorced in 1997. Grohl, according to reports, later admitted he was unfaithful to her.
Grohl rose to fame during the early 1990s as the drummer in the grunge rock band Nirvana, fronted by Kurt Cobain.
Grohl went on to form Foo Fighters, with the band currently on tour in support of their most recent album But Here We Are, which was released in 2023.
