Farmer Wants a Wife sisters Rachel and Chelsea Boothman detail ‘embarrassing’ confession: ‘We got kicked out’

Farmer Wants a Wife stars and twin sisters Rachel and Chelsea Boothman have opened up about an embarrassing travel moment on their new podcast, Times Two.

The sisters, who starred in the 2023 season of the hit Seven reality show but didn’t find a farmer to love, decided to launch a podcast to talk about the various issues that go along with being in their 20s.

In the second episode, the Perth-based pair reminisced about a visit to the northern coastal town of Exmouth, which didn’t go quite according to plan.

The sisters had booked a motel, hoping to stay for seven nights, but got mixed up and accidentally only booked for six nights.

They were going about what they thought was the second-last day of Exmouth activities when they got a rude shock.

“We went to a few beaches; we were out of reception all day,” Chelsea explained.

“Then we get back to our accommodation at the end of the day, pull up and look at the front door, and there is a note on the front door.

“It said something along the lines of, ‘you were meant to be checked out by 11am, please come to reception ASAP.’”

By this stage, however, it was closer to 6pm.

“We walked over to reception and they told us we hadn’t booked for that night,” Chelsea continued.

“Rachel mentioned to sleep in the car.

“If you know what car Rachel has … it’s a Hyundai Accent … where would we be sleeping, in the upright position?

“I was like, ‘we’re absolutely not sleeping in the car’, so I ended up booking another night, but it was really embarrassing.”

The podcast was bluntly entitled: “We got kicked out of our accommodation!”

Rachel and Chelsea Boothman made Farmer Wants a Wife history in 2023, being the first twins on the series.

Rachel was on Farmer Brenton’s farm stay, making it through to the finale, while Chelsea was vying for the heart of Farmer Matt.

While they left their respective farms still single, they didn’t waste too much time in launching their new podcast project.

On Instagram, Rachel announced that the podcast would focus on “twin sisters just trying to navigate life in their twenties … Talking all things love, friendship, health and our journey through life so far.”

Fellow Farmer favourite Sophie Holcombe, who recently announced her split from Farmer Brenton, was one fo the first to congratulate the pair.

“Yeeee hawww! Love this for you girls 💕 I am EXCITED x2,” the newly single star wrote.

Sophie’s comment came just days after she took to Instagram to share news of her split.

“With a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know Brenton and I have gone our separate ways,” she wrote.

“It’s a disappointing ending, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values.

“I wish Brenton all the best and want to thank everyone for their support, especially my family and friends.”

And while Chelsea and Rachel didn’t find love on the show, they said they had no regrets.

On the Times Two podcast they encouraged people to apply for the 2024 season, saying the new crop of farmers looked great.

In May, Rachel declared that her Farmer journey had been “nothing short of amazing”.

“What a crazy emotional rollercoaster of self-growth, friendships and many lessons learnt,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I am beyond grateful for this experience and stepping outside my comfort zone and trying new and exciting things I’ve learnt to love.”

She admitted “heartbreak is tough” – especially when it unfolded on national TV.

“Time heals all and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the experience,” she wrote.

“I am so thankful for some of the best friends and memories made that will last a lifetime.”
