Collingwood vice-captain Taylor Adams has officially requested a trade to Sydney.
7NEWS reporter Mitch Cleary revealed the Swans’ approach on Friday and on Sunday confirmed the 30-year-old wants to join the Swans.
Cleary reports he will get a three-deal at the Swans and Collingwood will facilitate the trade despite hoping he would remain at the club.

Sydney will be Adams’ third club after he began his career at Greater Western Sydney.
He played 31 games for the Giants before joining the Magpies ahead of the 2014 season.
He missed Collingwood’s premiership after falling short of overcoming a hamstring sustained a week prior to the preliminary final.
Adams will be the sixth Magpie to depart the club after they confirmed five delistings over the weekend.
Adams holds a close friendship with former Magpies ruckman Brodie Grundy who is headed to the Swans after being squeezed out of the ruck set-up at Melbourne despite four years remaining on his contract.
John Longmire’s side has been on the front foot attempting to attract mature talent after dropping from a grand final berth in 2022 to elimination final losers this September.
The Swans were ranked 17th for clearance differential in 2023 and are set to be without co-captain midfielder Callum Mills for at least the first six weeks of next season after a freak Mad Monday mishap.
They have already signed Melbourne premiership midfielder James Jordon as a free agent, while defender Joel Hamling will also join the club.
The arrival of inside midfielder Tom Mitchell this season to the Magpies (who ironically started his career at the Swans before winning a Brownlow Medal at Hawthorn) heavily reduced Adams’ time in the engine room.
Adams attended 39 per cent of the Magpies’ centre bounces this year, compared to 65 per cent in 2022 and 77 per cent the year prior.
He was asked to play most of the season at half-forward.
Adam joins a long list of high-profile Collingwood stars who ended up in the Harbour City.
Players such as Paul Williams, Nick Davis and Rhyce Shaw all went from the black and white to the red and white and made their mark at both clubs.
The 2023 Trade Period opens on Monday and runs until Wednesday October 18.
