A grandmother of five found dead inside an apartment block in Sydney’s eastern suburbs has been identified.
The body of Christine Dawson, 66, was found at the Astoria Cct apartments in Maroubra just before 12pm on Monday.
Her death is being treated as suspicious, and Strike Force Nain has been formed to investigate. Detectives are currently waiting on the results of forensic tests and an autopsy.

No charges have been laid.
Her daughter Tamara Dawson told 7NEWS her mother was “pure to her soul. She would give you her last cent.”
“I’m just going to miss her very, very much… things aren’t going to be the same. It’s not going to be the same,” she said.
“I’m sure if someone knows something they know what the right thing to do is.”
Shane Tucker, 50, was arrested and charged with the unrelated offence of breaching an enforceable Apprehended Violence Order (AVO).
He was refused bail and his case was mentioned in Waverley Local Court where his lawyer made no application for bail.
Police searched the property and nearby bins for evidence, dumping the rubbish onto the ground, on Monday.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
