Cause of Kate Princess of Wales shock ‘injury’ explained as fans go wild over detail in new appearance

Catherine, Princess of Wales has stepped out sporting an injury she sustained while playing with her children.

The princess, 41, suffered an injury to her right index and middle fingers while playing on the trampoline with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

The injury was apparent as Kate visited HMP High Down prison in Surrey, where inmates are struggling with addiction, as part of Addiction Awareness Week.

The index and middle fingers on her right hand were taped together.

The trampoline incident resulted in “a small injury, nothing serious”, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed to People.

During the prison visit, Kate stunned in a blue Alexander McQueen suit as she learned how the Forward Trust, of which she is patron, helps those in jail manage addiction.

After marrying Prince William in 2011, addiction was one of the first issues on which Kate focused.

She became patron of Forward Trust in June 2021 after it merged with the charity Action on Addiction, one of the first royal patronages she took on in 2012.

Another detail of Kate’s outfit spotted by fans was the necklace she wore, a sweet nod to her children.

The personalised gold diamond Midnight Moon necklace from Daniella Draper – which retails for $A2,050 – was engraved with the first letter of George, Charlotte and Louis’ names, G, C and L.

Viewers expressed their adoration for the cute accessory.

“The #PrincessofWales keeps her children close to her heart,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Stunning in an all-white suit, Kate watched England play Argentina on September 9 as part of her role as patron of the Rugby Football Union.

Kate’s latest appearance came as her sister-in-law Meghan, Duchess of Sussex returned to Europe for the first time since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

Joining her husband Prince Harry, Meghan gave an “off the cuff” speech on day three of the Invictus Games, apologising that she was “late to the party”.

The Duchess, 42, had remained in Montecito, California for the first four days of Harry’s trip to settle their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

“Hi everybody. It is so special to be here and I’m sorry I’m a little late to the party,” she began her speech as her husband stood beside her.

“Like so many of you, you know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and Fisher House has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home.

“Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you.”

“My husband is a man of few words this evening, do you want to say anything?” she joked, turning to Harry.

“You don’t need to hear from me again,” he stated, before adding a few more informal remarks.

When Meghan and Kate were last united for the Queen’s funeral, they attempted to display a united front despite growing tensions.

However at the time, body language expert Katia Loisel pointed out a lack of eye contact, interaction and acknowledgment of Meghan as a sign that Kate was freezing her out.

“On numerous occasions Meghan looked over at Kate, however, the gaze wasn’t reciprocated,” Loisel said in September 2022.

“Rather, Kate appeared to look through her, suggesting underlying tension between the pair.”
