An Aussie knife set has been recognised at the Good Design Awards for Excellence in Design and Innovation.
The Füri Stone Blocks received an award in the Product Design category in recognition of their “outstanding design and innovation”.
The Knife Block, currently available online at Füri and Minimax with 50 per cent off ($274.50), stood out to the judges of the competition for a number of reasons – namely, effectiveness and stylish design.

The knife block is set in a moulded composite terazzo stone material, which will look stylish in any kitchen or dining area.
And the high-carbon Japanese stainless steel alloy knives are top of the range when it comes to performance.
The six-piece knife set comprises a cook’s knife, bread knife, utility knife, santoku knife, Asian utility knife and the stylish snow terrazzo stone block.
Each blade includes a “revolutionary wedge-shaped handle”, which quickly and easily locks into the hand to reduce any slip towards the blade.
“To be recognised with an Australian Good Design Awards tells the world this project not only represents design excellence, but it also surpasses the criteria for design innovation and design impact,” the CEO of Good Design Australia and Chair of the Australian Good Design Awards Dr Brandon Gien told 7Life.
“The Good Design Award is an independent endorsement of professional design quality.”
The Knife Block has currently been discounted by 50 per cent, taking it down to $274.50 until the end of September.
Füri, established in 1996, has been designed by leading Australian engineers and international chefs.
Füri knives are made from high-quality, precision-crafted Japanese stainless steel.
The reason for this is because the material allows an incredibly fine angle to be cut on the blade.
