Telling detail in Farmer Brenton post day before shock split announced

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Sophie Holcombe shocked fans of the show when she announced her split from Farmer Brenton on Tuesday.

While Brenton is yet to address the relationship news, his most recent social media post is perhaps an indication of it.

On Monday, Brenton posted a carousel of photos, with the caption: “Still up there with some of the best of times and best people”.

Sophie was seen in only one of the six images, appearing in a group shot.

The first photo showed Brenton beside fellow farmers David and Brad and two others.

Brenton went on to share the image taken of host Samantha Armytage with all the farmers on the first day of shooting Farmer Wants a Wife.

Also seen were selfies with the farmers enjoying a drink together and all the cast appearing on The Morning Show to promote the series earlier in 2023.

Brenton tagged all the farmers, Sam Armytage, and other friends appearing in the post – but not Sophie.

Meanwhile, on Sophie’s account, the farmer has not appeared since June 23, leading some to speculate in the comments of her recent posts.

“Are you still with Brenton?” one asked on Sunday.

“Where’s Brenton?” another said on July 27.

“What’s going on with you and Brenton?” a third wrote.

Sophie shared the news in an Instagram story on Tuesday night, explaining she has learned a lot about “myself and my values”.

“With a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know Brenton and I have gone our separate ways,” the message said.

“Reg and I loved our life in Darriman and have been missing the farm a lot,” she said of her dog Reginald.

“It’s a disappointing ending, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values.

“I wish Brenton all the best and want to thank everyone for their support, especially my family and friends.”

In recent weeks, Sophie appears to have returned to Brisbane, where she lived before applying for the Channel 7 show.
