40+ Best Sales Vogue Editors Are Shopping This Black Friday

All products featured on Vogue are independently selected by our editors. However, we may earn affiliate revenue on this article and commission when you buy something.

Bursting virtual carts are perks—and hazards—of every Vogue editors’ job. We literally stay up late scrolling our favorite retailers’ new arrivals drops, for fun. Fashion (and beauty, and home) is our passion, and although we adore a good splurge throughout the year, we prefer the best sales when looking for those coveted pieces for friends, family, and, of course, ourselves. Nearly every retailer is now offering something tempting for Black Friday—from Black Friday deals on clothing to markdowns on skincare and makeup—and it’s difficult to decide where to start the grand scroll. That’s where we step in.

Vogue Editors’ Black Friday Sale Finds:

To help you navigate, we did the work for you—and asked our editors what they’re yearning for from the best Black Friday deals currently live. (Spoiler alert: off-the-runway investments, on-trend finds, and a plethora of wardrobe essentials came up.) There’s plenty to shop—like lush rugs from Nordic Knots, scarf coats from Nour Hammour and holiday-ready dresses for every festive occasion from Tove and Rohé. Scroll down to discover how to shop Black Friday sales, from croc-embossed loafers to mohair knits, like a Vogue editor.

When it comes to shopping sales I have a very strict approach to shopping. You have to, right? There are a lot of choices and it’s very easy to find yourself veering away from your own personal style (I have learned the hard way.) My rule? Only purchase things that are already on your wish list. If it wasn’t there in the first place, chances are you don’t need it.

I have plenty great basics, but far less evening wear that I feel is truly me. I want to change that! I’ve been loving everything from Róhe lately, plus what Talia Loubaton is doing at Liberowe, from the fitted jackets to the gorgeous draped tops, like this cream one. A warm shearling coat from Nour Hammour and Emme Parsons’s patent leather heels (as seen in our Party Dressing Edit) are on my wish list, too. Looking beyond the tip of my Net-a-Porter cart, I also really do need a new rug. I love the ones from Nordic Knots—their boutique in SoHo is so chic, I fell in love with the Grand rug in Moss and Walnut while visiting their store. They are finally having a Black Friday sale, which means it’s time to decide!

I’ve already purchased this Gap men’s sweater. It’s the perfect minimalist-friendly shade of green to add to my mostly monochromatic wardrobe. Khaite’s Shalbi jeans have been on my wish list since I tried them on for our Just Browsing column, and they’re now on markdown, lucky me! While it’s easy to fall into the trap of buying trendy items during sale season, I’m intrigued by the “shrunken” blazer silhouette that’s showing up a lot in tailoring as of late. This style from Studio Nicholson achieves the look for a fraction of the price.

I have my eye on some designer pieces that would be very irresponsible for me to purchase at full-price: a great Simone Rocha dress with lace trim and dramatic draping at the shoulder, and a very cool, two-tone Marni denim skirt.

When I shop, I like to keep a very specific ethos in mind: “Buy Good Clothes, Wear Them Often.” My closet(s) are very, very full and if I’m going to purchase something brand new, I’m going to wait for it to go on sale, and I’m going to need it to fill a gap that my wardrobe actually needs. Right now, I’m on the hunt for a new everyday sweater for me, and for my husband. Then, of course, my scarf-top obsession continues with Nour Hammour and Róhe.

All of my favorite seasonal trends–suede loafers, relaxed pairs of corduroys, slouchy leather bomber jackets, and standout knits–are on sale this early Black Friday! My winter wardrobe could use a fresh upgrade and I’m looking at these prized pieces to help get me started. The best part? They’re as on trend as they are trans-seasonal–find me sporting these well into spring, too.

This Cyber Week I’m most interested in winter wardrobe essentials—like Toteme’s cozy gray knit and The Frankie Shop’s cropped bomber jacket. In the beauty world, I’m impressed by this Augustinus Bader trio that I plan on gifting a family member this holiday season.

I used to buy chic things on Black Friday. I still remember the mirror and pom pom print Altuzarra skirt I stalked and snagged 50% off in 2012 from Matches (RIP). Nowadays my Black Friday goals are dramatically smaller–the prices and the actual size of the clothing. Kids’ brands do great Black Friday sales and I stock up on PJs for my two toddlers. Here are some pairs I’m eyeing for Arthur and Alice (and one for me).

This Black Friday, I’m in search of some versatile and cozy separates to add to my wardrobe. I’ve got my eye on these mohair-blend and Fair Isle sweaters, as well as these pleated trousers (I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect pair!).

My former coworker and style inspiration, Emily Farra told me that Calvin Klein makes some of the best jeans. So, this Black Friday I’ll be buying a pair from the iconic American denim brand. Also, one of my favorite sweaters to borrow from my mom is a cozy cashmere gray turtleneck from Saks Fifth Avenue. She’s had it for over ten years—and it still looks great despite frequent wear! If that doesn’t prove that Saks Fifth Avenue’s cashmere isn’t worth it then I don’t know what will!

Right now, I’m on a mission to revamp my basics. I’m craving a pair of everyday ankle boots, and I especially love Reformation’s super sleek Rae boots. On the jeans front, I’m looking to pick up some more indigo pants, and as an Agolde loyalist, I’ve got my eyes on these low-slung baggy jeans. I may just have to spring for them both.

I have just started exercising again since the pandemic (read: I’ve done one single Pilates class and can barely walk) and to celebrate the occasion I want some new workout clothing. Plus, everybody in my class looked very cute, so post-pandemic it appears working out is a fashion event, too? Annoying. These Alo leggings are so cute and obviously I need a top to match.
